Lija Gireesh Named Manager of Employee Health Services

Lija Gireesh, DNP, MSN, FNP-BC, NEA-BC, COHN-S, has been appointed manager of Employee Health Services. In her new role, she will provide leadership and direction to clinical staff to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations and quality outcomes for optimal caregiver experience.

Gireesh is a doctorate-prepared nurse with a focus on executive leadership in healthcare. She brings highly developed analytical skills and a proven ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions, which will further enhance the care delivery model at Employee Health Services (EHS). Her leadership, innovation and sharp focus on exceptional caregiver experience during the last two years of the COVID pandemic has earned her trust and confidence from caregivers, peers and leaders.

She started at ChristianaCare as a registered nurse in 2004 and joined Employee Health Services as a nurse practitioner in 2011. Her most recent role was lead nurse practitioner at EHS. She is also a faculty member in the College of Nursing at Walden University in Minnesota.

She received a doctor of nursing practice from Drexel University, a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Delaware and is currently pursuing her MBA with focus in health care. She is ANCC certified as nurse executive and ABOHN certified as an occupational health nurse specialist. She has done multiple presentations at local and national levels on topics like substance use disorders, health information technology and concept of wellbeing for health care workers.

She reports to Tabe Mase MJ, MSN, FNP-C, CHC, COHN-S, director of Employee Health Services.
