She is an education team leader in ChristianaCare’s Institute for Learning, Leadership and Development (iLEAD). She will receive her award at the 2025 Training Conference and Expo in February.
“Lauren is a forward-thinking educator and exemplary professional,” said Jerry Brannen, director of IT Education at ChristianaCare.

In her role, Hoag co-leads all instructor-led training activities for new hires, operational and project-based, education for ChristianaCare’s using the electronic medical record (EMR) as well as other third-party solutions that impact caregivers throughout the health system.
In the past year, Hoag and her colleagues more than doubled the number of core educational offerings for new hire providers and acute care nurses including three new versions of the resident EMR course to focus on the unique needs of medical residents.
Under Hoag’s leadership, the education team has improved the learning experience for caregivers by offering more and more complex scenarios and hands-on practice.
Among recent successes, Hoag and her team worked with Information Technology colleagues and Nursing Professional Development specialists to expand the use of a non-production TRAIN region into 10 nursing units to expand the capabilities of nurse educators to provide instructions on unit workflows for ongoing learning and development.
“Lauren successfully expands learning opportunities to address the specific needs of providers in their specialty roles, providing them with tailored, relevant training and reinforcement,” Brannen said. “Her leadership takes us from being exceptional today to even better tomorrow.”
