Marvin J.H. Lee, Ph.D., M.Div., MPS, appointed clinical ethicist
Marvin J.H. Lee, Ph.D., M.Div., MPS, has been appointed clinical ethicist for Christiana Care.
In this role, Dr. Lee will lead clinical ethical services, providing consultation, policy review, education, academic research and support to clinicians, patients and families.
He also will assume a leadership role to promote health care practices consistent with high ethical standards and help to shape a culture of relationship-based care.
Before coming to Christiana Care, Dr. Lee served as bioethics consultant at the Institute of Clinical Bioethics at Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, engaging in services such as consultation, teaching rounds, policy review, graduate program development, and leading interdisciplinary faculty research.
He also was the editor-in-chief of The Journal of Healthcare Ethics & Administration, a peer-reviewed academic journal published by St. Joseph’s University.
He taught philosophy, religion, and bioethics at Villanova and La Salle universities in the Philadelphia area. Prior to that, he co-founded and directed a community adult education center for East Asian immigrants.
Dr. Lee earned his doctorate from Cambridge University; a Master of Divinity from Yale University; a Master of Professional Studies from New York Theological Seminary; and a Bachelor of Arts from Stony Brook University.
He reports to Bettina Tweardy Riveros, Esq., chief health equity officer.
