8th Annual ‘An Evening at Monte Carlo’ event will raise funds for Helen F. Graham Cancer Center
One of Delaware’s premier fundraising events, the eighth annual An Evening In Monte Carlo presented by the Friends of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, happens Friday, May 13, 7pm to 11pm at the Hotel DuPont in Wilmington. Funds raised at the Monte Carlo event support Christiana Care’s Helen F. Graham Cancer Center.
“I am honored to be chairing this year’s event,” says Penny Saridakis, chair of An Evening in Monte Carlo. “The Friends are such a dedicated and committed group of young women passionate about changing the face of cancer care in Delaware through the leadership of Dr. Nicholas Petrelli, Bank of America endowed Medical Director of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center. We are so grateful for the community’s support—we could not do what we do without the generosity of those who share our vision for excellence in cancer care.”
The Friends of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center have raised nearly $1.5 million since 2003 on behalf of cancer patients and families.
This year’s event is supporting the Graham Center’s innovative Center for Translational Cancer Research. Cutting-edge research at the center transforms the latest discoveries in the laboratory into new cancer diagnostic tools and innovative treatments for cancer patients. Monte Carlo also supports a special fund that helps cancer patients who cannot afford some of the basic needs associated with cancer care—like transportation, childcare and even the special creams and wigs cancer patients sometimes need.
An Evening in Monte Carlo is an increasingly popular celebration featuring a fun-filled, festive evening with an impressive array of raffle prizes. Special features this year include an overnight trip to New York City with tickets to the Dr. Oz Show, as well as a separate raffle for four tickets to Super Bowl XLVI in 2012 in Indianapolis, Ind.
Monte Carlo tickets are available and can be purchased online at www.christianacare.org/montecarlo.
