ChristianaCare has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report to its 2026-27 Best Hospitals as the top hospital in Delaware, as No. 5 in the Philadelphia metro area and as a High Performing hospital for 13 procedures and conditions.

The annual rankings highlight select hospitals across the nation, out of 4,500 evaluated, for excellence in patient care, clinical outcomes and performance across a wide range of specialties, procedures and medical conditions. High Performing ratings are the highest distinction awarded by U.S. News for specific areas of care and reflect strong outcomes for patients.

U.S. News & World Report Methodology
To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and patient experience. The Best Hospitals Specialty Rankings methodology and Procedures & Conditions Ratings methodology measure patient outcomes using data from over 800 million records of patient care.

In the recently released U.S. News Best States rankings, Delaware ranked No. 2 in the nation for hospital quality, No. 4 for health care quality and No. 10 for health care access.
