Imaginations celebrates 20 years of excellence

Several youngsters from Imaginations, on a field trip to Wilmington Hospital Health Center, learn some basics about tooth brushing from General Practice Dentistry Resident MaryClare Kubasko, D.M.D.

The Imaginations Early Learning Center has received a five-year reaccreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), a status achieved by only 8 percent of preschools in the United States. NAEYC is the nation’s leading organization of early childhood educators dedicated to improving the quality of child care programs.

To earn NAEYC accreditation, a program is evaluated in four areas—children, teaching staff, partnerships and administration—and more than 400 related criteria. The self-study and self-assessment portion of the process involves parent and faculty surveys, extensive portfolios for each classroom, a program portfolio and classroom observations.

Imaginations is on the Christiana Hospital campus, serving Christiana Care employees from throughout the health system.
