American Legion chapter supports breast-cancer special needs

The American Legion presented a generous gift to the Breast Center Special Needs Fund. Present are Russell Slaton, American Legion member, Diana Dickson-Witmer, M.D., FACS, Breast Center, Jim Kirkland, American Legion member, Renie Mullaney and Emily Penman, M.D., FACS, both of the Breast Center, John Granite, American Legion member and Poppy Granite of the Breast Center.

The Christiana Care Breast Center Special Needs Fund received a generous gift of $4,425 from the American Legion Post 166 of Ocean City, Md., who sponsored several events—including a motorcycling event—during the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Breast Center Special Needs Fund provides financial support for medical expenses for patients from their initial mammogram through their diagnosis and treatment.
