As a special gift to the babies and families of the region, Delaware Subaru has donated $10,000 in proceeds from the dealership’s “Share the Love” campaign to the Center for Women’s and Children’s Health at ChristianaCare.
This generous philanthropic donation will support the needs of babies in ChristianaCare’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and their parents. With the impactful leadership of Michael Uffner, president, chairman and CEO at Delaware Subaru and Auto Team Delaware, Delaware Subaru has donated more than $75,000 in total to support women’s and children’s health at ChristianaCare. Uffner is a member of ChristianaCare’s Board of Advisors.
“We are grateful to Michael Uffner and his team for their ongoing commitment to the health of our youngest patients and their families,” said David Paul, M.D., chair of the Department of Pediatrics.
“With such generosity, we are able to serve our community in ways that are exceptional today and even better tomorrow.”
More than 6,100 babies were born at ChristianaCare in 2021.
Christiana Hospital is the only high-risk delivering hospital in Delaware offering Level III neonatal intensive care. The NICU provides 24/7 onsite board certified neonatologists and is fully equipped with the technology and personnel to provide the highest standards of acute care.
Christiana Hospital is one of the only hospitals in the U.S. to provide couplet care in the NICU, keeping mother and baby together even if they both require medical care. It is the region’s only National Community Center of Excellence in Women’s Health.
