Valerie Staradub, M.D., Appointed to Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition Board

Valerie Staradub, M.D., FACS, breast surgery section chief in ChristianaCare’s Department of Surgery, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition (DBCC). She also serves as program director of the Surgical Society of Oncology Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute.
Staradub has more than 20 years of experience dedicated exclusively to breast surgery and joins a distinguished group of community leaders supporting DBCC’s mission to provide breast cancer education, advocacy and support across Delaware.

Since joining ChristianaCare in 2021, Dr. Staradub has led the breast surgery program while also playing a key role in surgical education and academic leadership. Prior to that, she served as medical director of the Breast Care Program at Danbury Hospital and held faculty and surgical appointments at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
A board-certified surgeon and fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Staradub is a widely published researcher and frequent speaker on breast health. Her appointment reflects ChristianaCare’s continued commitment to community leadership, clinical excellence and advancing care for patients across the region.
