Stevi Turner Celebrated With DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses
'She made me feel like I had a special angel watching over me'
Stevi Turner, BSN, RN, a nurse at Union Hospital, has received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. She was nominated by a colleague and by a patient.
One nominator described Turner as compassionate and as someone who helps her patients find peace in their most vulnerable moments.

“She has such a calming effect when it comes to a patient having a hard time. I have witnessed this on many occasions,” her colleague wrote in the nomination, noting that Turner demonstrates exemplary nursing care, even on the toughest of days.
“This nurse is dedicated and loving,” the nominator wrote.

The patient’s nomination described Turner as “one-of-a-kind” and having “a heart of gold.”

The Professional Nurse Council at ChristianaCare selects DAISY Award recipients using an anonymous selection process based on nominations from patients, families and all members of the ChristianaCare team. All nurses — inpatient, outpatient and ChristianaCare HomeHealth — are eligible.
