Rhio Lewis, a ChristianaCare HomeHealth homemaker, has received the ChristianaCare ROSE Award.
ROSE stands for Raising Our Standard of Excellence, recognizing outstanding partners in nursing who help deliver compassionate, excellent care to patients and families.
The patient who nominated Lewis said that, thanks to her attentive care, he feels better physically and emotionally.

“When Rhio first started working with me I was a mess,” wrote her nominator, who has having difficulty with mobility and everyday tasks like washing himself. “Rhio has worked to transform me back to a healthier man.”
Her consideration and respect during care tasks, like showering and shaving, were monumental in her nominator’s health journey. “She has given me strength and encouragement to continue with my wellness,” he wrote.
“I wouldn’t be making so much improvement without her.”

The Professional Nurse Council at ChristianaCare selects ROSE Award recipients using an anonymous process based on nominations from patients, families and ChristianaCare caregivers. Nursing partners in caregiving — behavioral health specialists, clerks, home health aides, homemakers, medical assistants, monitor technicians, office assistants, patient care technicians, perioperative care technicians, procedural area technologists and surgical technologists — are eligible.
