Carla Saunders, a homemaker with ChristianaCare HomeHealth, has received the Christiana Care ROSE Award. ROSE stands for Raising Our Standard of Excellence, recognizing outstanding partners in nursing who help deliver compassionate, excellent care to patients and families.
Saunders was nominated by a patient who praised her extraordinary care and specialized skills during a recovery after a long hospital stay.
“Carla’s care is exceptional, surpassing that of any other aide I’ve had in my home. As someone who is paralyzed, I can attest that her specialized care matches the quality I received during my 64-day rehabilitation hospital stay,” the nominator wrote.

“She understands how to care for someone with no mobility and works quickly and efficiently. When I asked how she acquired such specialized knowledge, she humbly replied that she ‘picked it up along the way.’”
The nominator highlighted Saunders as “one of a kind and irreplaceable.”
