Paige Reynolds Honored With DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses

Paige Reynolds, BSN, RN, of the Emergency Department at Union Hospital, has received the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses.

ChristianaCare DAISY Award recipients are nurses recognized for meeting and exceeding the needs and expectations of patients and families by displaying exceptional clinical skills, compassion, calm, respect and partnership.

Reynolds was nominated by a grateful patient who arrived at the emergency room in excruciating pain.

“I’ve long believed that your nursing staff is the best in Delaware and Maryland.”

“It’s safe to say my pain level was at a 10 that morning,” her nominator wrote. “Within minutes of entering my room, Paige’s positive energy had me and my significant other smiling and laughing, which was not an easy feat with the amount of pain I was in.”

While in the Emergency Department with his fiancée to support him, “Paige made sure we were entirely taken care of. The way she treated me and my significant other was awe-worthy.

“I’ve long believed that your nursing staff is the best in Delaware and Maryland,” her nominator wrote. “Paige proved that beyond a shadow of a doubt. Her warm, friendly, professional and all-around outstanding care makes her deserving of this recognition.

“Because of her alone, I will never go to another hospital.”
