Crowe was nominated by one of her patients who was grateful to have her by her side following surgery.
“Amanda has been the most attentive and compassionate nurse,” her nominator said. “When I returned to my room after surgery, Amanda was amazing. She walked me around the room, made me a heating pad and offered me warm tea and anything she could do to make me feel better.”
“Amanda truly exemplifies what it means to be a nurse and help patients through difficult times,” said her nominator.
Crowe said she finds meaning in helping patients and “putting a smile on their face.” She has worked on her unit since 2016. Currently, she is serving in a dual role, working some of her shifts as a virtual nurse.
