Mahoney was nominated by a new dad who recognized her as an “amazing nurse and advocate” for him and his wife following the birth of their baby.

“Colleen was happy and helpful, anticipated our needs and went out of her way to make sure my wife and me were comfortable during our stay,” her nominator wrote.

Nurse leaders celebrate Colleen Mahoney, BSN, RNC-MNN.

“She provided much-needed stability and a consistent face in the midst of rotating visits from specialists and providers. She checked in with us often to make sure we understood all the new information we were receiving from the care team and taught us numerous helpful tips and tricks to help keep mom and baby happy.

“Among all the excellent caregivers we met in our eight days in the hospital, Colleen stands out as exceptionally wonderful,” her nominator wrote.

Mahoney began her career at ChristianaCare as a student in 2019. She received her BSN in 2020 and her Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNC-MNN) certification in 2022. She has spent her entire career on 6M/7M, the postpartum at Christiana Hospital.
