Amy Kohl Appointed Director of Clinical Operations, Perioperative Services

Amy Kohl, MSN, RN, CCRN, NEA-BC, has been named director of clinical operations for Perioperative Services. In this role, Kohl will have direct oversight of nursing practice and day-to-day operations at the Newark and Wilmington campuses and the SurgiCenter.

Kohl has been with ChristianaCare for 23 years, serving as the perianesthesia nurse manager since 2013. She has led or been intricately involved with several improvement efforts, such as the hip fracture and spine pathway, development of the PACU nursing fellowship and serving as project lead for the glucose management pathway, while also supporting community-facing events.

Most recently, Kohl and the peri anesthesia leadership team led a care model redesign for spine surgery at the Newark Campus, allowing ambulatory cases to be performed while pandemic forces abounded. Kohl is clinically sound, respected by her peers, and a proven contributor to Perioperative Services and the Department of Nursing during her tenure.

Kohl received a master’s degree in nursing studies from the University of Delaware, with a focus on Health Services Administration. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from UD.
