Brenda Rabeno Named Corporate Director of Acute Medicine
Brenda Rabeno, MLS (ASCP) MHA, MBA, has been appointed corporate director of Acute Medicine. In this role, Rabeno will partner with Dr. Vinay Maheshwari, Dr. Kate Eldridge and campus leaders to advance the operations of our acute hospitalist and intensive care teams at our hospitals on the Newark, Cecil, and Wilmington campuses. She will lead operations related to physician contract management, clinician engagement, quality and safety assurance, fiscal stability and strategy development and execution.
Rabeno has been with ChristianaCare since 1999. She started her career as a medical laboratory scientist. Over the last seven years, she served as an operational leader for the Pathology, Acute Medicine, and Surgical Services Teams. While in these roles, Rabeno established a transfusion safety program, coordinated contracts and quality metric mapping with our GI providers, led surgical services integration and strategy development at our Cecil campus, and coordinated care standardization activities for COPD and pneumonia management.
Rabeno has an MBA in health care administration from Wilmington University, a master’s in health care administration from Drexel University; and a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from the University of Delaware. She reports to Joel M Brown II MSM, RRT, FAARC, vice president of Acute Operations – Medical Group.
