ChristianaCare’s Christiana Hospital is listed among the nation’s Blue Distinction Centers+ for Spine Surgery, as reported in Becker’s Spine Review.
Blue Distinction Centers+ for Spine Surgery are hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers recognized by Blue Cross Blue Shield for demonstrating safe, cost-effective and efficient care. Facilities are also measured on how efficiently they deliver patient care, based on a set of objective measures.
“Recognition as a Blue Distinction Centers+ for Spine Surgery facility is a testament to ChristianaCare’s commitment to providing the safest, most effective care for our patients,” said Gerard Fulda, M.D., chair of the Department of Surgery.
ChristianaCare’s spine program includes a 30-bed unit in Christiana Hospital that provides comprehensive care for people suffering from cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine disorders.
