Ric Cuming named to DAISY Foundation Board
Ric Cuming, Ed.D., RN, chief nurse executive of ChristianaCare and president of ChristianaCare HomeHealth, has been named to the board of The DAISY Foundation, which recognizes nurses around the world for expert, compassionate care. He begins his three-year term in 2021.
Cuming champions ChristianaCare’s robust DAISY recognition program and has partnered with DAISY throughout his career to honor excellence and love in nursing.
“His extensive expertise with the program and his bold, progressive approach to nursing will help shape our future direction,” said Bonnie Barnes, DAISY’s co-founder, CEO and board president, in announcing the appointment.
ChristianaCare’s DAISY program, led by the Professional Nurse Council, recognizes individual nurses, teams and nurse leaders. The program expanded this year to include a nursing Lifetime Achievement Award.
“I am deeply honored to serve the DAISY Foundation and ChristianaCare’s amazing nursing team in this new way,” Cuming said. “DAISY honors and celebrates the meaningful impact nurses have on the lives of their patients, their patients’ families, and one another every day.”
