We are shining a light on our #healthcareheroes. Meet Medical Assistant Quiana Wise.
What inspires you to be a caregiver?
My grandmother inspired me. From the time I was a little girl I used to help my grandmother take care of family members and friends who became ill. I used to watch how much she lifted the spirits of the people she cared for, and I wanted to make people feel like that.
How has your typical workday changed? What work are you doing or doing differently because of COVID-19?
I went from interacting in person with patients to only speaking with them over the phone. Although some days were challenging I have been able to witness first-hand technology evolve in health care and how we came together as a ChristianaCare community to help patients get the care they need. I see how the people in our community rely on caregivers even more now to ensure they receive the proper care.
