Kimberly Gannon, M.D., Ph.D., appointed medical director in Neurosciences
Kimberly Gannon, M.D., Ph.D., has been appointed medical director of the Stroke Program, the STAR (6C) unit and the inpatient Neurology practice.
In this role, Dr. Gannon will provide clinical leadership for the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Christiana Hospital, the Primary Stroke Center at Wilmington Hospital and the Acute Stroke Ready Hospital at the free-standing Middletown Emergency Department. In addition, she will provide medical director leadership to the STAR (6C) unit at Christiana Hospital and the inpatient Neurology practice at Wilmington and Christiana hospitals.
Dr. Gannon earned her medical degree and a Ph.D. in physiology and biophysics from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She completed neurology residency and a fellowship in vascular neurology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, including a Healthcare Leadership in Quality track, and she was a member of the Housestaff Quality Improvement Council.
She is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, board certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and American Physician Scientists Association.
