At business forum, Drew Fennell, Esq., shares leadership lessons learned
“Assume good intentions.” Drewry Nash Fennell, Esq., chief officer of Strategic Communication and Development, shared this Christiana Care Health System behavior among her top advice to local and emerging leaders at the 90 Ideas in 90 Minutes forum in January. Presented by the Delaware Business Times at The Queen in Wilmington, 90 in 90 brings together nine leaders to each share 10 of their best ideas to inspire the Delaware business community.
The speakers drew their 10 tips from their extensive experience as leaders in the government, athletics, non-profit and for-profit sectors. Fennell talked about positive ways to make change together with others – “If you want someone to change their position, leave some room for them to move toward you.”
Listening actively and seeking to understand, she said, are keys to successful change. “Listening is the deepest form of respect,” she said. “If every voice is heard, the power of the group is amplified.”
