Photo gallery: Wilmington Wellness Day

More than 35 Christiana Care employees and students from seven departments participated in the 12th annual Wilmington Wellness Day on Sept. 17 at Rodney Square, bringing information about how to live longer, happier and healthier lives to more than 2,500 city residents.

This event provides free health information and screenings that some lower-income residents of Wilmington may not be able to afford.

On an overcast Saturday, employees of Christiana Care offered free health screenings, including blood pressure, cholesterol, nutrition, body-fat analysis and osteoporosis. The Christiana Care team screened more than 120 people and spoke with hundreds more about various ways to prevent disease and stay healthy.

Christiana Care departments and services that participated this year included Community Health Outreach and Education, Trauma, the residency program, Center for Community Health, Exercise and Weight Management, Moving Moms Forward, Nuclear Medicine, Wilmington Hospital Health Center, Center for Advanced Joint Replacement and Warriors Against Prostate Cancer.
