The new walking trail around the east lake offers scenic views and a gently curving pathway that is convenient for employees and visitors.

Christiana Care is committed to helping improve your health and encourages you to take an active role in managing it. During daylight hours, the new walking trail around the east lake bordering New Churchman’s Road on Christiana Hospital campus offers gorgeous scenery, a foot-sure walkway and unlimited fresh air for those inclined to exercise, unload stress or contemplate nature.

The setting is beautiful at this time of year thanks to the fall foliage. Getting there safely isn’t a challenge, but it does require some caution.

“The intersection of Collector Road and ED Drive offers a designated crosswalk,” said Bruce Blackburn, chief of Public Safety. “People crossing further up Collector Road should beware of traffic, especially incoming traffic from New Churchman’s Road, Route 58. People coming in don’t have that stop sign at ED road slowing them down.” Blackburn also cautions that the walking trail is not for use after dark, because there is no lighting.
