Jolomi Ikomi, M.D.
Medical Director of Project Recovery
Dr. Jolomi Ikomi is board-certified addiction psychiatrist who specializes in the treatment of dual diagnosis disorders (that is treatment of a combination of substance use disorders and mental illness).
He joined ChristianaCare with eight years of clinical and leadership experience in addiction psychiatry as a staff psychiatrist and medical director, most recently at a clinic where he helped establish and develop an outpatient addiction treatment program, and previously with substance abuse treatment unit (SATU) which is a Yale university affiliated dual diagnosis outpatient clinic where he was the medical director. He has held academic positions as an assistant professor of psychiatry at both Yale University and University of Cincinnati.
Dr. Ikomi has contributed to books and articles published in peer-reviewed journals, presented at conferences and served on committees for clinical excellence, addiction treatment expansion, education, and utilization and management review.

“More patients are struggling, and mainly as a result of things like there’s lack of social support. There is more isolation,” said Ikomi. “Dual diagnosis of drug addiction and mental illness is a disease where we ask patients to get more support and engage more in treatment and they’re finding that difficult.”
