Valerie L. Staradub, M.D., F.A.C.S. — Breast Surgery

Valerie L. Staradub, M.D., F.A.C.S.,. completed 10 years as the Medical Director of the BreastCare Program at Danbury Hospital/Western Connecticut Health Network, where she also held the positions of Chair of the Breast Tumor Board and Section Chief of Breast Surgery. Prior to that, she served as a Breast Surgeon on the teaching staff of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, and Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. Dr. Staradub has held faculty positions at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, Harvard Medical School and the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. In addition to teaching surgical residents, she has been active in medical student education and served as a Site Director for the Surgery Clerkship for the Larner College of Medicine, St. George’s University School of Medicine, Ross University Medical School and the AUC School of Medicine.

Dr. Staradub completed her medical school education at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and her general surgery training at the Medical University of South Carolina. She then completed a prestigious Fellowship in Breast Surgery at the McGaw Medical Center at Northwestern University.
Dr. Staradub is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the Association of Women Surgeons. She has published multiple articles and book chapters and given numerous invited lectures on the community and national level.
