Kristopher Fayock, M.D. — Assistant Program Director for the Sports Medicine Fellowship

Dr. Kristopher Fayock is the Assistant Program Director for the Sports Medicine Fellowship at Christiana Care Health System. After graduating from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA with a BS in Biochemistry, Dr. Fayock finished his medical studies at Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, in Philadelphia, and completed Family Medicine residency there in 2011. During that time, he received a Resident Teaching Award from the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. He remained at Jefferson for an additional year to complete a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine. During the fellowship year, he covered the Philadelphia Phillies, Cheyney University Football team, Neuman University Ice Hockey Team, and the Upper Darby High School football and wrestling teams.

Dr. Fayock is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine in both Sports Medicine and Family Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, and the American College of Sports Medicine. He serves as a reviewer for the Current Sports Medicine Reports journal and is a monthly contributor to the Sports Medicine Research website. During his residency training, he served as the Co-Clinical Director of the Jefferson Family Medicine Refugee Clinic.

Dr. Fayock has co-authored publications that address the relationship of physicians and pharmaceutical companies, medical students’ perspective on home visits, adolescent athletes’ bone health, and resistance training vs. stretching. He has made presentations on shoulder examination, concussion in sports, and student attitudes toward pharmaceutical companies.
