Jason Silversteen, D.O. — Director, Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis Center

After graduating with Dean’s List honors in biology from Arcadia University (Glenside, Pa.) in 2001, Jason Silversteen finished second in the class of 2005 from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (Erie, Pa.). Following internal medicine internship with The Graduate Hospital and neurology residency at the Drexel College of Medicine, both in Philadelphia, he was Drexel’s neurology chief resident in 2008 and 2009 and was a multiple sclerosis fellow at the University of Texas Southwestern (Dallas) in 2009 and 2010.

In July 2010, Dr. Silversteen joined Christiana Care as a neurology specialist, where he is also director of the Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis Center and serves as neurology education coordinator within the Internal Medicine Residency Program.

He is a board-certified neurologist and holds current medical licensure in Delaware.

A member of both the American Academy of Neurology and the American Osteopathic Association, Dr. Silversteen is also associated with the Delaware Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society Board of Trustees and serves as chairman for its Clinical Advisory Committee.

Dr. Silversteen has conducted clinical trials, delivered presentations and lectures, and authored papers on multiple sclerosis and its treatment to both students and practicing neurologists. He has also shared his expertise in the form of patient education and community service programs.

Among his awards are the Beaver College Distinguished Scholar Award, The Posey Award during his internship at Graduate Hospital, and the Robert Schwartzman Neurology Resident of the Year award.
