Cynthia D. Waddington, MSN, RN, AOCN — Nurse Navigator

Cynthia D. Waddington, MSN, RN, AOCN, is a clinical nurse specialist at Christiana Care’s Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, where she fills several roles treating people with cancer.
Her work includes serving as a nurse navigator for women with gynecological cancers. Her responsibilities include following patients through their diagnosis and treatment. She is also a member of the Survivorship Team, which assists patients in making the transition to life after cancer.
In addition, Ms. Waddington is a member of the Mind, Body and Spirit Wellness Team. Her work with this team includes coordinating and teaching wellness-related activities such as seated yoga, meditation, exercise classes and special programs. She also meets individually with patients who are working to make healthy lifestyle changes and who want help navigating the often confusing and complex area of complementary therapies. Her experience in these disciplines are enhanced by several professional certifications, including as an American Council on Exercise group fitness instructor and a Wellcoaches health and wellness coach. She is also certified to teach exercise following Healthy-Steps/the Lebed Method.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Wilmington University. She holds a master’s degree in nursing with a focus as an oncology clinical nurse specialist from the University of Delaware. Her other professional certifications include advanced oncology nursing as well as chemotherapy and biotherapy training.
Ms. Waddington is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society and has presented at its Annual Congress. She also belongs to the American Holistic Nurse Association and is the education coordinator for its Delaware chapter.
