Caitlin Halbert, D.O., FASMBS — Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon

Caitlin Halbert, D.O., MS, FASMBS is a board-certified general surgeon with a focus in Bariatric and Foregut surgery. She practices at Christiana Care and is the Assistant Program Director for the General Surgery Residency Program.

After completing a Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences, Dr. Halbert received her medical education at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She went on to complete her General Surgery residency training at Christiana Care Health System in Delaware. She then received specialty training at Stony Brook University Hospital, completing a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Bariatric and Advanced Gastrointestinal Surgery.

Dr. Halbert specializes in bariatric surgery, including laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and roux-en-y gastric bypass. Her practice also includes foregut surgery, with a focus on the treatment of achalasia, gastrointestinal reflux disease, and hiatal and diaphragmatic hernias.

Dr. Halbert is actively involved in national organizations, including the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgery (SAGES) and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). She has authored several publications and has presented at a number of regional and national conferences.
