Allen Friedland, M.D. —

Allen Friedland, M.D., sees both pediatric (Pediatrics) and adult patients (Internal Medicine) that includes families in the ChristianaCare practice located at the Medical Arts Pavilion 2 building.

Dr. Friedland received his medical degree from the State University of New York (S.U.N.Y.) at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, as part of a seven-year B.S.-M.D. program from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education. He received his combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency training at University of Cincinnati Hospital and Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati and was chief resident at the University of Cincinnati Hospital.

Dr. Friedland has been residency program director for the ChristianaCare/Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Jefferson Medical College Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency program since 1999 and is a professor of Medicine and Professor of Pediatrics.

He has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career including the Walter J. McDonald Award for Young Physicians from the American College of Physicians (ACP) and the Special Achievement Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Dr. Friedland had been named from Delaware Today as one of the “People to Watch. 40 people under 40” (he is not 40 anymore) and several “Top Doctor” awards.

He also sits on the national Committee of Pediatric Education, which is the think tank of the AAP. Dr. Friedland travels around the country and mentors many students, residents and faculty.
