Chamber Honors Drs. Nevin and Laskowski

Christiana Care President and CEO Janice E. Nevin, M.D., MPH, spoke about Christiana Care’s commitment to partnering with neighbors in their care as theguest of honor at the 178th Annual Delaware State Chamber of Commerce dinner on January 12th. During the Chamber event, Dr. Nevin emphasized the importance of listening to patients and their families as Christiana Care focuses on population health and undertakes new initiatives during an interview with Sharon Baker, co-founder of Teleduction. In attendance were hundreds of business and community leaders and state and federal lawmakers, and media outlets including The News Journal. An interview with Dr. Nevin is the cover story of the Chamber’s Delaware Business magazine.

In another highlight of the evening, former Christiana Care president and CEO Robert J. Laskowski, M.D., MBA, was awarded the 2015 Josiah A. Marvel Cup,the Chamber’s highest distinction. The award, established in 1951, honors a Delaware resident who has made an outstanding contribution to the community, state and society. Dr. Laskowski was recognized as a respected physician, servant-leader, researcher in health care delivery science and visionary thinker. “I am thoroughly surprised and overwhelmingly humbled to be selected for this honor,” Dr. Laskowski said. Multiple media outlets reported on the award including The News Journal, WDEL 1150 AM and Delaware Business Daily. The News Journal also published an editorial congratulating Dr. Bob on winning the Marvel Cup.
