Although much of his work takes place behind the scenes of patient care, Kadel is motivated by the ultimate goal of providing patients with the highest quality care.
“I am inspired to do my work knowing that what I do makes an impact in a patient’s life,” Kadel said. “It gives me immense pleasure to foresee that my work may help physicians diagnose patients accurately, provide effective treatment and improve patient outcomes.”

Kadel serves as a mentor and educator to aspiring medical students and clinicians, informing them about laboratory medicine pathways.
“I enjoy teaching because I believe that if I take the time to teach one person correctly and that person does the same with others, then many people can benefit in the long run,” Kadel said. “I want to make a difference by educating students and health care professionals about laboratory medicine.”

Mary Iacocca, M.D., chair of the Department of Pathology, is grateful for Kadel’s shared commitment to providing education to residents. “Dr. Kadel is an invaluable member of our department and works tirelessly to champion departmental and systemwide education efforts and leadership stewardship initiatives.”
