Stephanie Spangler, D.O., Appointed Chief of Hospitalist Services
Hospitalist and leader in patient experience will guide ChristianaCare Hospitalist Partners across the health system
Stephanie Spangler, D.O., has been appointed chief of Hospitalist Services for ChristianaCare Hospitalist Partners.
In this role, Spangler sets strategy, works with clinicians and leads efforts to improve outcomes and enhance the experience for patients and caregivers. She focuses on operational excellence, supports evidence-based care and partners across teams to ensure smooth transitions.

Spangler most recently served as assistant medical director for ChristianaCare Hospitalist Partners at the Cecil County campus, where she led standardization and quality initiatives that produced high‑value results. She began serving as medical director of Patient Experience for the Acute Medicine Service Line in 2024 and continues that work in her new role. She also co-chairs ChristianaCare’s Patient Experience Provider Subcommittee.
A graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Spangler joined ChristianaCare in 2014 as an Internal Medicine/Pediatrics resident, later serving as chief resident of Internal Medicine. She became a staff hospitalist with ChristianaCare Hospitalist Partners in 2018 and was recognized in 2022 by the Medical‑Dental Staff as a ChristianaCare Rising Star.
Spangler is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics.
She will report to Kate Eldridge, M.D., clinical director of Acute Medicine Services.
