New members and leaders have been named to the ChristianaCare Health System and ChristianaCare Health Services boards, offering valuable expertise for the health system.
Salvatore J. “Chip” Rossi Jr. and Paula Swain have been appointed to the ChristianaCare Health System board of directors.
“The ChristianaCare Health System Board welcomes the addition of Paula and Chip, both of whom are known for their outstanding service and dedication to our community,” said Nicholas M. Marsini Jr., Health System Board chair. “We look forward to their knowledge and experience as we work together with President and CEO Dr. Janice Nevin to innovate, transform and improve the health of our neighbors.”
In addition, Barbara Albani, M.D., Morgan Miller and Rita Landgraf were named to the ChristianaCare Health Services board of directors. Lolita Lopez is now chair of the Health Services Board after serving as vice chair.
“As chair of the ChristianaCare Health Services Board, I will continue our work to ensure our patients receive the highest quality and safest care so they can thrive,” said Lopez, who has been honored for her distinguished service to ChristianaCare. “My 33 years of leading Westside Family Healthcare have shown me the essential role ChristianaCare plays in building healthy, equitable communities that reach across the region.”

ChristianaCare Health System Board additions
Chip Rossi is president of Bank of America Delaware. He also serves on the boards of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, Delaware State University Foundation, the Grand Opera House, Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County, and Year Up Greater Philadelphia and Wilmington. Rossi also previously served on the ChristianaCare Health Services Board and the Health System & Health Services Finance Committees. He will also serve as vice chair of the Health System Audit & Compliance Committee of the Board.
Paula Swain serves as executive vice president of human resources at Incyte, with additional responsibility for facilities, environment, health and safety, and ESG reporting. She also serves as chair and secretary of the Incyte Charitable Giving Foundation; is Member at Large for the Cancer Support Community Delaware; third vice president for The Committee of 100; and is on the board of Delaware BioScience Association. Swain previously served as a member of the ChristianaCare Health System Executive Compensation & Succession Planning Committee and the ChristianaCare HomeHealth and Community Services Board.
ChristianaCare Health Services Board additions
Lolita Lopez, chair of the Health Services board, retired as president and chief executive officer of Westside Family Healthcare in July 2023, and has a long history of service on several ChristianaCare boards and committees, most recently serving as vice chair of the Health Services Board. She also serves as trustee of the Delaware Technical Community College and a member of the Delaware Healthy Mothers and Infants Consortium.
Tom Moore now serves as vice chair of the Health Services Board. Moore, who retired from L. Gore & Associates in January 2022, also serves as chair of the ChristianaCare Quality and Safety committee and is a past member of the ChristianaCare Health System Governance Committee.
Barbara J. Albani, M.D., is board-certified in neurology, radiology and neuroradiology and is ChristianaCare’s medical director of NeuroInterventional Surgery. Albani is an ex officio member of the Health Services Board as president of the ChristianaCare Medical Dental staff.
Rita Landgraf is on the College of Health Sciences faculty at the University of Delaware after serving as cabinet secretary of the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services under Governor Jack Markell’s administration. She joins the ChristianaCare Health Services Board after several years on the HomeHealth Board, including past service as chair. She also serves on the board of the Delaware Center for Health Innovation, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Delaware and atTAcK addiction.
Morgan Miller is executive director of the Cecil County Public Library system. She is the past president of the Maryland Library Association and current chair of legislative affairs for the Maryland Association of Public Library Administrators. Within Cecil County, she serves on the Economic Development Council and Local Management Board. Miller joins the Health Services Board as an ex officio member from her role as chair of the ChristianaCare Affinity Health Alliance, Inc./Union Hospital Board.
