Doreen Nord Named Nurse Manager, Wilmington Hospital Emergency Department
Doreen Nord, MSN, RN, CEN, NPD-BC, has been appointed nurse manager of the Wilmington Hospital Emergency Department.
In this role, she is responsible for the daily operations of the Emergency Department where she supports the team to provide exceptional care to our community and to achieve organizational goals.
Nord joined ChristianaCare in 2011 as a student nurse extern on the inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Wilmington Hospital. In 2012 she joined the Wilmington Emergency Department as a registered nurse where she achieved RN III status. She became the Nursing Professional Development Specialist for the Wilmington Hospital Emergency Department in 2016 and transferred in 2020 to the Christiana Hospital Emergency Department where she became the residency coordinator.
Nord received her master’s degree in Nursing in Health Systems Management through Drexel University. She received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Delaware.
She is certified as an emergency nurse through the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing and as a certified nursing professional development specialist through American Nurses Credentialing Center.
She reports to Danielle Weber, MSN, MSM, RN-BC, NEA-BC, chief nursing officer, Wilmington Campus.
