Lauren Duddy Appointed Nurse Manager, Wilmington Acute Care of the Elderly Unit
Lauren Duddy, BSN, RN, CEN, PCCN, has been appointed nurse manager of the Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) unit 8S at Wilmington Hospital.
In this role, she is responsible for the daily operations of the ACE unit, supporting the team to provide exceptional patient care to our acute care elderly population and to achieve organizational goals.
Duddy joined ChristianaCare in 2005 as a student nurse extern and became a member of the Emergency Department team at the Newark campus in 2007.
In 2013, she joined the Cardiology Short Stay Unit (CSSU) at Christiana Hospital where she advanced to RN III, served as assistant nurse manager, and was appointed nurse manager in 2019. At the CSSU, Duddy participated in the design, implementation, and operation of the second cardiac care unit at the Wilmington campus.
Duddy was part of the team that won the President’s Award in the 2020 ChristianaCare Way Awards for The Wilmington Cardiac Care Unit: The Right Care in the Right Place. She also was named a 2021 Delaware Top Nurses honoree for advancing and leading the profession.
Duddy received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Delaware in 2006. She is currently completing her Master of Science in Nursing, Health Systems Leadership, at the University of Delaware.
Duddy is certified as a progressive care nurse by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and as an emergency nurse through the Board of Certification for Emergency Nurses.
