Leslie Verucci honored with 2020 Advocate Award for Excellence in nursing
Leslie Verucci, MSN, RN, CNS, CRNP, APRN-BC, received the 2020 Advocate State Award for Excellence from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
The award is presented annually to a dedicated advocate in each state who has made a significant contribution toward increasing the awareness and recognition of nurse practitioners.
Verucci joined the Radiation Oncology Department at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute in 2010. She joined ChristianaCare in 1982, working in both surgical and medical areas, and prior to the Graham Cancer Center worked as a nursing educator of oncology nurses and as a nutrition support nurse at ChristianaCare.
Verucci is a 2001 graduate of the University of Delaware master’s degree program in nursing. She is certified as an adult health nurse practitioner and has a degree as a cardiopulmonary clinical nurse specialist. She has a post master’s certificate in family medicine from the University of Delaware. She earned her undergraduate degree at Wilmington University.
She is president-elect of the Delaware Nurses Association and served as the DNA’s chairperson for its advanced practice council, a member of the legislative committee and the professional development committee.
