Yasmin Guirgis, MBA, appointed director of business operations, Nursing Administration

Yasmin Guirgis, MBA, has been appointed director of business operations, Nursing Administration.

In this role she is responsible for supporting the financial operations of all nursing units.

Guirgis has held various positions in the financial services industry, eventually transitioning to a career in health care at Canada’s largest health system, Alberta Health Services.

She spent most of her career working in the Canadian health care system, designing and implementing provincial reimbursement models and initiatives. Over the years, she has managed several multimillion-dollar projects and led $1 billion in annual reimbursements for long-term care in Alberta. She also has led teams and committees of various sizes and disciplines and served as a faculty member at the Canadian Institute for Health Information’s Case Mix Funding School.

Following a move to Maryland in 2017, she worked in corporate finance at an Arizona-based managed care organization, where she managed budgeting and forecasting activities for five Medicaid plans. Guirgis holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and an MBA from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada.

She reports to Chief Nurse Executive Ric Cuming, Ed.D., RN, NEA-BC, FAAN.
