Dr. Janice Nevin named among 2019 ‘Top 25 Women in Health Care’

Christiana Care President and CEO Janice E. Nevin, M.D., MPH, was named among Modern Healthcare magazine’s 2019 “Top 25 Women in Healthcare,” which honors female executives from different sectors of the health care industry.

Dr. Nevin was selected from a pool of hundreds of nominations of female health care leaders across the country. This recognition program honors the top women health care executives who are influencing health care policy and delivery models and supporting gender equity in leadership. A panel of judges and top editors at Modern Healthcare selected the honorees.

Under Dr. Nevin’s leadership, Christiana Care is becoming more than a health system that delivers care: It is becoming a system that impacts health. Christiana Care partners with its caregivers, patients and neighbors to achieve personal health goals and create healthier communities.

Recognized for her commitment to the community, Dr. Nevin is making a lasting impact on the health of Delawareans. In 2018, she received the Amethyst Ball Humanitarian Award from Limen House for her dedication to preventing addiction and supporting recovery and in 2017 she received Delaware’s Grassroots Champion Award from the American Hospital Association. She also was inducted into the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame in 2017.
