Alison B. Purner appointed nurse manager of Christiana Care HVIS labs
Alison B. Purner, MSN, RN, CCRN, has been appointed nurse manager of Christiana Care’s Heart & Vascular Interventional Services Labs.
Purner now oversees the HVIS labs’ day-to-day operations and regulatory requirements and ensures they are aligned with Christiana Care’s annual operating plan goals, as well as Christiana Care Values and Behaviors.
She joined Christiana Care in 2005 as a patient care technician and student nurse extern. She became a staff nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit in 2010. She then served for three years in the Neurovascular Interventional Radiology Lab before becoming assistant nurse manager of the HVIS Prep and Hold unit.
She transitioned into the nursing professional development specialist role in 2017 until taking on acting nurse manager responsibilities of the HVIS Interventional Labs in July 2018.
Purner earned her BSN from Towson University, Maryland and her MSN in Nursing Leadership from Wilmington University.
She was instrumental in assisting the Cardiac Short Stay Unit with obtaining its 2018 Bronze Beacon Award.
She now reports to Felisha E. Alderson, MSN, RN, CRRN, clinical operations director, HVIS.
