Despite rain, Christiana Care teams raise $53K for Wilmington Heart Walk

Christiana Care Health System employees continued their proud tradition of supporting the American Heart Association’s annual Wilmington Heart Walk, Sept. 9.

Although the walk itself was canceled due to torrential rain, employees, family and friends showed their enthusiasm and support at the Wilmington Riverfront.

Forty-nine Christiana Care teams registered for the Heart Walk and raised more than $53,000 — an increase of about $13,000 over 2017 — to promote heart health and fund the fight against heart disease and stroke.

Altogether, more than 60 companies participated in the event, raising approximately $293,000 for the cause.
