Felisha E. Alderson named HVIS director of clinical operations
Felisha E. Alderson, MSN, RN, CRRN, has been promoted to director of clinical operations for Heart & Vascular Interventional Services and the HVIS Prep and Hold unit.
Alderson has been employed by Christiana Care Health System for more than 17 years. She has served for almost 10 years as nurse manager for the Center for Rehabilitation at Wilmington Hospital, supporting the strategic plan development and ongoing certification by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities. She is board certified in Rehabilitation Nursing.
Alderson received a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in nursing leadership from Wilmington University.
She earned a white belt in Lean Six Sigma in 2016 and has held many roles in her nursing career, including direct care cardiac nurse, direct care vascular access nurse, cardiac cath lab nurse, emergency room nurse, nursing coordinator and nurse manager. She has 27 years of experience in acute, interventional and ambulatory services.
She has been instrumental in the adoption of the dual self-release belt system to reduce patient falls from chairs, and has presented at several conferences on this subject.
She is a member of the executive board of the Delaware Nurses Association, a member of the American Nurses Association, and the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses. She has presented at both regional and national conferences, and was published in the American Journal of Nursing.
She is the president of the Board of Directors of the Kutz Senior Living Campus, which includes Kutz Rehabilitation and Nursing & Lodge Lane Assisted Living and Memory Care.
