Andrea Sweeny appointed cardiovascular stepdown nurse manager

Andrea Sweeny, MSN, RN-BC, has been promoted to nurse manager of 4E Cardiovascular Stepdown.

Sweeny has dedicated herself for the last 10 years to the patient care unit. She was appointed assistant nurse manager in 2016. She started her career as a graduate nurse on a medical unit in 2006.

She completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Immaculata University in 2013 and her master’s degree in nursing with a focus on executive leadership at Wilmington University in 2015.

She is board certified in cardiovascular nursing and gerontology.

Sweeny also is active in the community promoting cardiovascular health as a founding member and current president of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Society for Vascular Nursing.

She has been a peer supporter for Christiana Care’s Care for the Caregiver program since 2014 and has developed and implemented a successful unit-based novice nurse support group.
