A night with the Blue Rocks
Great way to celebrate Magnet nursing excellence
Christiana Care sponsored a night at the Wilmington Blue Rocks minor league baseball game July 18 as a way to recognize the commitment to excellence proven by our health system being the only Delaware hospital to earn Magnet Nursing designation twice.
Christiana Care was first in Delaware to achieve Magnet status in 2010, and is first in the state to attain redesignation, demonstrating sustained excellence in nursing practice and adherence to national standards. Only 8 percent of the nation’s hospitals hold the prestigious Magnet designation.
Over a hundred employees, along with many family members joined the fun, including leaders like Christiana Care President and CEO Janice E. Nevin, M.D., MPH, and Chief Nurse Excecutive Richard G. Cuming, Ed.D., MSN, RN, NEA-BC. 
Nurses, children and friends spent a few leisurely hours July 24 watching the Wilmington Blue Rocks defeat the Salem Red Sox.
