   Thank you, to the Junior Board of Christiana Care Inc., for 130 years of outstanding service to our community.
Every corner of Christiana Care has the wonderful touch of the Junior Board. From the patient experience when you walk into any of our hospitals to providing critical funding for programs and new facilities, this group of dedicated volunteers has made a tremedous difffence in the lives of the people we serve.
Thank you for your service from 1888 to 2018 and beyond.

Appointments
Carol Abdill, MSN, RN, CRNI, was recently appointed to the Delaware Board of Nursing as a member at-large. Abdill joins the following Christiana Care nursing colleagues who are also on the board: David Salati, BSN, RN III, CEN, CFRN, of the Middletown Emergency Department; Victoria Udealer, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, RN-BC, of the Cardiac Short Stay Unit; and Stephanie Evans-Mitchell, MSN, APRN, of Behavioral Health.
Robert Dressler, M.D., MBA, has been appointed to a two-year term on the Association of American Medical Colleges IQ Steering Committee.
Michael Maguire, M.D., MPH, was accepted to the 2018 Program for Post- Graduate Trainees: Future Academic Clinician Educators in Dec 2018, from the MGH Institute for Health Professionals/ Harvard Macy Institute.

Radiation Oncology, Helen F. Graham Center & Research Institute, has been appointed RN III.
Awards
Bryan Haimes, M.D., MPH, is one of two national case award winners from the National Med-Peds Residents Association, for his case titled “A Stroke of Bad Luck” to be presented in Orlando on Nov 3. Dr. Haimes’ case describes a seven- year-old in the PICU with Down syndrome and atrial septal defect who had postoperative stroke.
Michael Maguire, M.D., MPH, will be honored with the Howard Schubiner Award from the National Med-Peds Residents Association, recognizing significant contributions by a Med-Peds resident to NMRPA and/or Med-Peds at the local or state level.
Ryan Holton, M.D., will receive a Southeastern Pennsylvania American College of Physician Professionalism Award for Trainees on Nov 3.
Wound, Continence & Ostomy nurse team achieves 100 percent certification
Over the course of the past year, members of the wound, continence and ostomy team have focused diligently on achieving across the board certification, leading to 100 percent of the WOC team now being fully certified in all three specialties.
“This certification is difficult to achieve;
it includes learning in all three areas and passing three separate certification tests,” said Susan Mascioli MS, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, CPHQ, LSSBB, director, Nursing Quality and Safety. “A big thank you to Clinical Leader Lois M. Dixon, MSN, APRN, AGNP-C, RN-BC, CWOCN, Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse Practitioner for her leadership and support of this great achievement.” 
