Christiana Care Health System, headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, is one of the country’s largest health care providers, ranking 22nd in the nation for hospital admissions.

3D Mammography Now Available in Smyrna and Glasgow
Having regular mammograms can help find breast cancer early,
when it’s most treatable.
Christiana Care Imaging Services has added breast tomosynthesis, also known as 3D mammography, at its Smyrna and Glasgow locations, expanding access to this leading-edge diagnostic technology in New Castle County.
Breast tomosynthesis helps doctors
to see breast tissue more clearly and
find problems earlier. Like a digital mammogram, the 3D mammogram takes a series of images of the breast
that are then read by a doctor. But, unlike a digital mammogram, the 3D mammogram lets the doctor see through the tissue layer by layer, so that small details are no longer hidden.
