New Castle County Police support
Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute
New Castle County Police gave a generous gift of $6,000 to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute on Monday, Oct. 30, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The police raised funds in honor of Lt. Joseph L. Szczerba, who was killed in the line of duty, by selling pink New Castle County Police patches and T-shirts to county government employees. In addition, several police volunteered to greet visitors at the Graham Cancer Center throughout the month of October. New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer also attended the ceremony to thank the staff of the Graham Cancer Center and the New Castle County Police for their generous donation.
Joined by New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer, Nicholas J. Petrelli, M.D., Bank of America endowed medical director of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute, receives a check for $6,000 from Chief of Police Colonel Vaughn Bond Jr. and members of the New Castle County Police Dept.
