 Heather Farley appointed as first chief wellness officer
Heather Farley, M.D., MHCDS, FACEP, has been appointed as the first chief wellness officer at Christiana Care Health System.
In this role, Dr. Farley oversees
the organizational strategy to advance the professional
fulfillment and wellbeing of Christiana Care caregivers. She leads advocacy programs and initiatives aimed at optimizing the caregiver experience and fostering an organizational culture of wellbeing. She also continues to oversee the direction and activities of the Center for Provider Wellbeing.
Dr. Farley, an emergency medicine physician, completed her medical education at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She joined Christiana Care in 2002 for residency training in emergency medicine and a fellowship in administration which she finished in 2006.
She previously served as assistant chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine. She was instrumental in opening the Middletown Emergency Department in 2013 and served as its medical director for three years.
In 2014, Dr. Farley developed “Care for the Caregiver,” one of the nation’s earliest and largest peer support programs for health care providers. In 2016 she was named director of Provider Wellbeing and established the Center for Provider Wellbeing.
Dr. Farley earned her Master of Health Care Delivery Science from Dartmouth College in 2018. She has held several leadership positions in the American College of Emergency Physicians on state and national levels, and has co-authored multiple peer- reviewed journal articles. She frequently speaks at local, national and international venues with the goal of sharing best practices and innovations in the field of clinician wellbeing.
Dr. Farley continues to practice emergency medicine in the Christiana Hospital Emergency Department. She reports to Chief People Officer Neil Jasani, M.D., MBA, FACEP. 

Service Line and director of Medical Group Operations
Ei Phyu, MHA, has been appointed operational lead for the Neurosciences Service Line and director of Medical Group Operations.
In this role, she supports the overall operations
and strategic development of the Neurosciences Service Line and also leads the practice operations of Christiana Care's employed Neurosciences practices.
Phyu joined Christiana Care as an administrative
fellow in 2015 and has been working as a leader
in the Neurosciences Service Line since 2016. She
has a proven track record of operationalizing strategies and leading successful initiatives including pathway development, growth of new clinical programs and expansion of ambulatory services. She also has played a key role in developing and integrating financial planning and management across the service line.
Phyu received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Rochester and a
Master of Health Administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She also is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She reports to Mike Eppehimer, MHSA, FACHE, chief operating officer of The Medical Group. 
Jennifer Czerwinski appointed director of Patient Experience
Jennifer Czerwinski, BA, has been appointed director of Patient Experience.
In this role, she will be responsible for providing leadership, expertise, planning, facilitation and coordination for Christiana Care Patient Experience improvement initiatives and activities.
She will lead the Patient Experience program managers, help interpret data, identify opportunities to improve, design and execute improvement interventions, and monitor intervention outcomes
in collaboration with system, service line, essential service, inpatient unit and physician practice leadership.
Czerwinski has over 13 years of health care experience working in a variety of roles with different health care organizations. She has more than 10 years' experience with Christiana Care. She previously held positions in iLEAD as a senior education specialist and worked for a period in recruitment.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Prior to that she worked as a regional organization development specialist, evaluating, designing and facilitating customer experience programs in the telecommunication industry.
She also was a pharmaceutical sales representative for Sanofi, responsible for educating physicians and other medication-prescribing professionals on new developments in the rapidly advancing pharmaceutical industry. Czerwinski reports to Mike Puchtler, vice president of Patient Experience. 
