Faculty will address global topics making an impact on our world today and the local concerns of our busiest clinical colleagues.
Presentations will include lessons learned in the global fight to eradicate polio, new epidemiological trends in HIV transmission, an update in histoplasmosis and other endemic mycoses, an update on infections in implantable cardiac devices, and a guide to understanding the classic differential, fever and rash. The Visiting Professor Conference will host Paul Pottinger, M.D., DTM&H of the University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle.

Pinpoint Your Pain with Dry Needling
6 – 7:30 p.m., John H. Ammon Medical Education Center
Muscle aches and tightness can interfere with your life by limiting your activities, from playing with your children to going for a daily walk or run. Traditional treatments, such as stretching and massage, may only offer temporary relief and may not target the cause of the problem. In this presentation, a team of Christiana Care physical therapists will discuss dry needling: what it is and how they use it to ease muscle aches and tightness throughout the body and alleviate pain with pinpoint precision.
Presenters will include Chris Dougherty, DPT; Lorin Lyons, MPT, OCS; Todd Everett, DSc, MPT, OCS, COMT; and Travis Ross, DPT.

Christiana Care Golf Classic

The 28th annual Christiana Care Golf Classic presented by Cerner Corporation will be held on Thursday, May 23 at the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, Delaware. The Classic supports The Fund for Christiana Care, which helps Christiana Care respond quickly to our community’s health needs and ensure our patients are offered the latest in technology and advanced medical care.
The tournament will start at 11:30 a.m. with scramble play using the Callaway Scoring System with a reception immediately following. Tickets may be purchased online at christianacare.org/classic. 
